About this item
Small wooden discs painted in the dot-mandala method: a single centre point, then ring after ring of dots laid outward with the tip of a stylus, each ring smaller and closer than the last, until the pattern closes at the rim.
There is no way to rush this and no way to correct it — a dot placed wrong stays wrong — which is why the work is described as meditative. The palettes run warm: marigold, vermilion and white on black, or white and turquoise on deep green.
Sealed with a hard varnish and fitted with a split ring. Sold singly; the group photograph shows the range of patterns.
Details
- Materials: Seasoned wood disc, artist acrylic, hard varnish, nickel-free split ring
- Dimensions: Disc approx. 4 cm diameter
- Care: Wipe with a dry cloth. The varnish is hard-wearing; avoid soaking.
Handmade in small batches by Chitra in Dehradun. Because every piece is made by hand, small variations in colour and finish are part of the work.
Shipping
Dispatched from the studio within 3 to 5 working days. Most pieces are made or finished to order, so please allow a little longer during festival weeks.
Fragile items - resin trays, relief plates and glass candles - are wrapped in tissue, bubble wrap and a rigid outer carton.
Returns
If a piece arrives damaged, send a photograph within 48 hours of delivery and it will be replaced or refunded in full.
Because most work is one of a kind or made to order, we cannot accept returns for change of mind. Do ask any question before ordering - happy to send more photographs.
About handmade variation
Everything here is worked by hand in small batches. Colour, grain, bloom placement and the way resin or ink settles will differ a little from the photographs.
These differences are the record of the piece being made rather than moulded, and are not treated as faults.
