Jewelled Frog Painted Stone Figurine

These start as stones and end as sculpture. Chitra builds the form up over the stone with modelling clay — ears, a shell, a trunk, a raised paw — then paints the whole piece and seals it.

The family includes a seated Ganesha in coral and cream with a mouse at his shoulder, a garden turtle with flowers growing through its shell, a spotted deer resting on a wood slice, a panda with blossoms at its chest with a smaller cub beside it, a thoughtful monkey on a green base, a chameleon perched on a stack of books, a jewelled frog studded with glass cabochons, a trio of frogs, a striped fish, and a cat asleep on a midnight-blue disc.

Modelled freehand, so each figure sits and looks a little different from the last.

Handmade in small batches by Chitra in Dehradun. Because every piece is made by hand, small variations in colour and finish are part of the work.

Dispatched from the studio within 3 to 5 working days. Most pieces are made or finished to order, so please allow a little longer during festival weeks.

Fragile items - resin trays, relief plates and glass candles - are wrapped in tissue, bubble wrap and a rigid outer carton.

If a piece arrives damaged, send a photograph within 48 hours of delivery and it will be replaced or refunded in full.

Because most work is one of a kind or made to order, we cannot accept returns for change of mind. Do ask any question before ordering - happy to send more photographs.

Everything here is worked by hand in small batches. Colour, grain, bloom placement and the way resin or ink settles will differ a little from the photographs.

These differences are the record of the piece being made rather than moulded, and are not treated as faults.
