Rose and Gold Resin Bookmark with Silk Tassel

The most personal thing in the studio, and the hardest to repeat. Each bookmark is a thin rectangle of resin poured flat, then worked while wet — alcohol inks dropped in and pulled with a pin, gold and copper leaf floated on, real pressed flowers and fern laid down, or tiny wax hearts and dots set in a row.

Once cured, each is sanded on all four edges and polished until it is glass-smooth, then drilled at one end and hung with a long silk tassel chosen to pick up a colour from the pour.

Thin enough to sit inside a closed book without splaying the spine. Because every pour moves on its own, the bookmark you receive will be close to the photograph but not identical to it — which is rather the point of a handmade one.

• Dimensions: Bookmark approx. 15 cm x 3.5 cm; tassel approx. 8 cm
• Care: Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Do not bend. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight.

Handmade in small batches by Chitra in Dehradun. Because every piece is made by hand, small variations in colour and finish are part of the work.

Dispatched from the studio within 3 to 5 working days. Most pieces are made or finished to order, so please allow a little longer during festival weeks.

Fragile items - resin trays, relief plates and glass candles - are wrapped in tissue, bubble wrap and a rigid outer carton.

If a piece arrives damaged, send a photograph within 48 hours of delivery and it will be replaced or refunded in full.

Because most work is one of a kind or made to order, we cannot accept returns for change of mind. Do ask any question before ordering - happy to send more photographs.

Everything here is worked by hand in small batches. Colour, grain, bloom placement and the way resin or ink settles will differ a little from the photographs.

These differences are the record of the piece being made rather than moulded, and are not treated as faults.
